As the countdown to the 2025 Belfast City Marathon begins, we’re thrilled to introduce one of our incredible relay teams: The Kidney Krew.

This dedicated group of young runners — Ellie B, Melina, Ellie C, Alex, and Eve — hail from Waringstown and Banbridge, and they’re lacing up their running shoes with purpose. On Sunday, May 4th, they’ll be hitting the streets of Belfast not just for the challenge, but to raise vital funds and awareness for the Northern Ireland Kidney Research Fund.

The Kidney Krew are passionate about making a difference. Through their JustGiving page, they’re inviting friends, family, and supporters to join them in supporting kidney research — helping NIKRF continue our mission of funding pioneering research and supporting patients living with kidney disease across Northern Ireland.

With every step they take, the Krew are contributing to a future where kidney disease is better understood, better treated, and hopefully one day, prevented entirely.
